"I was born in ... My father was a doctor and my mother was a translator of English and German languages. From early childhood she was teaching me German language so by the time I graduated high school I was fluent in German. In 1941 the World War II begins. I was too young to be drafted into the Red Army and that is why I joined it voluntarily and immediately was sent to the front lines, and my first battle, which took place at Perekopskom. During the heavy fighting the Red Army was surrounded. Joining the group of soldiers I managed to break through the Germans surrounding. My main goal was to return back to the front lines. Finally, near the town of Kharkov, where the fighting was particularly fierce, I managed to rejoin the Red Army. The last step of the war for me was Berlin. In 1947 based on the false accusation from the S.M.E.R.S.H. (KGB) I was arrested.

The grounds for my arrest were letters from my aunt, my mother's sister who lived in New York who kept on writing me and inviting me to visit her in America. This was enough for KGB to send me away to the Gulag for 10 years as a political prisoner. I tried to escape but was captured and sentenced for 10 more years. I was in many labor camps, established by Stalin and only after his death my case was reevaluated. I was completely rehabilitated after 8 years of political imprisonment.

When I was freed I decided to go back to school. I applied and was accepted to School Studio M.H.A.T. I've graduated with a degree in fine art and degree in theater scenic design and immediately begin to work as a production designer on Studio Gorky in Moscow. In parallel I begin my career as an artist exhibiting my art works.

After my immigration to United States of America in 1981 I continue my career in movie production as well as my career in art."
